Who we are
The Gali Link app is published by R.M. Sistemi Elettronici S.r.l., Viale M. Gandhi 18, 10051 Avigliana (TO), Italy, VAT IT07920500019 (“RM Sistemi Elettronici”, “we”). For any privacy question, write to [email protected].
In short
- The app controls and configures GALI by RM™ charging systems (GALI M, GALI B, GALI BC) on the local network.
- No account or sign-up is required.
- The app sends no data to RM Sistemi Elettronici or to third parties: it only talks to your GALI, over your Wi-Fi network or the GALI’s own Wi-Fi network. Email notifications, if you turn them on, are sent by the GALI (see below).
- It contains no advertising, analytics or profiling tools.
Data stored on the phone
To work, the app stores on the phone:
- the passwords of password-protected GALI devices, encrypted in the system’s secure storage (Android Keystore or iOS Keychain);
- app preferences: the last address used, the list of static IP addresses associated with the Wi-Fi network name, the theme colour.
This data stays on the phone and is not sent to us. It is deleted when you uninstall the app or clear its data in the phone settings.
Data exchanged with the GALI
The app reads the charging status, configuration and charging history from your GALI, and writes to the GALI the settings you choose (for example the Wi-Fi network and its password, the mail server settings and the email address the GALI sends notifications to, site and energy meter settings). This data is stored in your GALI, not by RM Sistemi Elettronici. Communication happens only on the local network; the GALI uses the HTTP protocol, so we recommend protecting your Wi-Fi network and your GALI with a password.
Email notifications are sent by the GALI, not by the app, in one of the two ways you choose:
- Email address only: the GALI sends them through GaliMail, the RM Sistemi Elettronici mail service (a mailbox at the email provider Aruba S.p.A.). The service receives the address to send them to and the text of the notifications (GALI name, date and time, charging event), only to deliver them.
- Own mail server: the GALI sends them through the mail server you configure.
When you ask to check for firmware updates, it is the GALI, not the app, that connects to the RM Sistemi Elettronici update server to download the firmware.
Permissions
- Location (Android; on iOS “Location” for Wi-Fi network information): Android and iOS only allow apps to read the name of the Wi-Fi network the phone is connected to with this permission. The app uses it to recognise the GALI’s network and your home network. It does not detect, store or send your location.
- Local network and Wi-Fi: to find GALI devices on the network and communicate with them.
Diagnostic report
From the Info screen you can create a PDF diagnostic report with technical information and the GALI configuration; passwords, tokens and PUK are masked. The report is created on the phone and shared only if you choose to, with the app and recipient you choose. If you send it to our support team, we will use the data it contains only to answer your request and keep it only as long as needed to handle it.
Children
The app is not intended for anyone under 18.
Your rights
For any data you send us (for example when contacting support) you may at any time exercise the rights under Articles 15-22 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection) by writing to [email protected]. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (www.garanteprivacy.it) or the authority of your country.
Changes
If the app changes the way it handles data, we will update this policy and the date at the top.
